The tenth and latest addition to the Gearhouse Group, Gearhouse ICS, aims to bring complete conference and event solutions to South Africa. The newly formed company was the result of a merger between Gearhouse’s Inhouse Venue Technical Management IT (IVTM IT) and Global ICS.
“It was a natural fit; both companies service the conference and events industry. IVTM IT Rentals takes care of hardware rentals and Global ICS has developed a number of applications, including a registration system and a presentation management,’ said Thabiet Waggie Managing Director of Gearhouse ICS.
Gearhouse ICS, which was officially opened on March 1, has offices in Cape Town, Gauteng and Durban. The Cape Town Branch is headed up by Waggie while the Johannesburg operations fall under recently appointed Director Brenda Caplen (formerly of Evaluate Interactive Event Systems and Conference Communication). Other Directors are Ashraf Omar, Ofer Lapid and Nasser Abbas.
According to Caplen, Gearhouse ICS represents a dynamic new space that has enormous scope for growth.
“My passion has always been to find ways of integrating new techniques and ideas into something fresh and innovative to make the lives of event organizers, speakers and delegates easier and more streamlined. Gearhouse ICS offers me this opportunity on a much larger scale,’ she stated.
The company has already launched a number of new products such as EventsCentral and MediaVue. The former is an online and onsite delegate management and registration system while the later is an online and onsite presentation and content management system.
