InfoComm International has agreed to extend membership and free and discounted training to members of the Standing Conference for Heads of Media Services (SCHOMS).

InfoComm and SCHOMS share a joint vision to promote professionalism amongst the senior level higher education technology manager community in the United Kingdom. To accomplish their common goals, all SCHOMS U.K. Institutions will become members of InfoComm International, and will receive select free online training, including CTS Prep, along with access to discounted advanced training.

“InfoComm is delighted to enter into our first official agreement with SCHOMS,’ said David Labuskes, CTS, RCDD, Executive Director and CEO, InfoComm International. “We have worked together over the years to advance the AV profession at universities and provide networking for senior managers at higher education institutions throughout the U.K., and hope this effort will lead to more joint initiatives in the future.’

“With technology rapidly changing the way that Learning, Teaching and Assessment practice is created and delivered, all members of SCHOMS are increasing being expected to meet the challenges of innovating with and supporting a range of Audio Visual and Learning Technologies. The agreement with InfoComm delivers a consistent and recognised approach to developing and professionalising our staff to meet the needs of our learners and exceed their growing expectations’, said Simon Birkett, SCHOMS Chair.

The groups estimate that InfoComm International will gain 75 new members as this relationship gets underway.
