Matrix Sound has opened an office in Orlando, Florida, in the US. The recent
restructuring within the Johannesburg based company has facilitated renewed
focus on the sales division and enabled the company to explore distribution
deals with manufacturers in new regions.
“For the past 14 years we have maintained distribution agreements for pro-
audio products manufactured in Europe and more recently in Australia. We have
proudly associated ourselves with what we believe to be among the best
professional audio product available in the world today,’ says Trevor Peters of
Matrix Sound.
The company is now expanding the scope of its sales division and in this regard
plans to act primarily as an importer and distributor for a number of additional
new product ranges. “Our most recent challenge has been to identify brands
that offer quality and reliability in what is effectively a new venture for us,
supplying to the music industry and contractors market. It’s a very competitive
segment of our industry, particularly when you’ve committed to maintaining
specific equipment standards. Having a good knowledge of the product offerings
emanating from Europe, we decided to investigate what American
manufacturers had to offer.’
Peters has spent the past two years becoming familiar with the US market and
its specific offerings. “On returning from Info Comm 2014, I felt that we had
enough of a sense of what was available, and more importantly suitable to us,
to take the next step. The establishment of an office in Orlando will allow us to
consolidate orders from all over the US and ship them home more cost
effectively.’
The intention is to introduce the companies’ product and service offerings to a
broader market, a move integral to their plans for growth. “We love that we are
associated with quality in everything that we do and we wouldn’t dream of
changing what we have spent the past16 years establishing. We would
however like to embrace a wider market sector moving forward and this will be
the first step in that direction.’
