The continued alliance between Messe Frankfurt and Guangdong International Science and Technology Exhibition Company (STE) is resulting in new international exhibitors and supporters for the 2014 edition of Prolight + Sound Guangzhou which will take place 24 – 27 February in Area A at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou, China.

Representing Messe Frankfurt, Ms Fiona Chiew, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co Ltd said: “We are working towards further developing and improving the show so that it becomes a global business platform for the pro audio and lighting industry. So far, we are already seeing some positive results. For example, several new international leading suppliers have signed up for the show and we have new international supporters which further strengthen our efforts to attract international buyers to the show.’

Mr Jason Zeng, Beyerdynamic’s Sales Director said the company is participating in the show to promote its new products such as wireless and wired microphones. Mr Zeng added: “Trade fairs provide a very good platform for product displays and face-to-face communication with customers and the media. Through Prolight + Sound Guangzhou, I hope Beyerdynamic’s brand awareness and sales can be boosted in Southern China.’

FBT’s local marketing representative Ms Jesscia Yang believes that China offers huge potential for the pro audio and lighting sectors due to rapid growth in the Asian market. She explained that foreign brands are localising their production which lowers costs and diversifies product development. Commenting on Prolight + Sound Guangzhou, Ms Yang added: “Through the exhibition we can connect with potential customers, look for business opportunities, as well as understand customer needs and market trends.’

Laserworld attends many exhibitions around the world and views Prolight + Sound Guangzhou as a professional and well-known exhibition in China. Mr Benedikt Orthen, Director of Events, Trade Fairs and Rental said: “It is the ideal platform to meet existing customers, to introduce our company and our laser light show systems to an interested audience. The show will help Laserworld to tap into the fast-growing Chinese market boosted by an increasing number of hotels, clubs, discos and amusement parks now using laser light systems.’

During Prolight + Sound Guangzhou, Maquinas will display its hoist series and new generation computer control systems. Mr Jose Maria de Albuquerque da Costa Cabral, Director of Maquinas said: “We want to send a signal to customers through the exhibition that our advanced European stage machinery technology is available to create greater value for customers. We are very optimistic about the Chinese market and in the next 10 years we will invest more in research and the market.’

As part of the show’s objective to become a global platform, it has attracted new supporting association – ANAFIMA (National Association of Musical Instruments and Audio Manufacturers) from Brazil. ANAFIMA is the association for Brazilian musical instruments, accessories and audio manufacturers.
