Undergoing a fundamental redesign of its business model and structure, PLASA
announced today that its chief executive officer of 17 years, Matthew Griffiths, will
step aside in order to facilitate a flow of fresh ideas that are necessary for PLASA’s
development.
“Having being involved in a number of restructures for PLASA over the years,”
Griffiths says, “I know how important it is to have clarity around the leadership
driving any change as well as having a completely new set of thinking to tackle the
challenges ahead.”
During his two decades with PLASA, Griffiths accumulated a number of
accomplishments, including the growth of the PLASA London Exhibition, the PLASA
Focus events, the launch of Lighting and Sound America, and the merger with ESTA.
“Matthew Griffiths has been a tireless supporter of PLASA and deserves a lot of
credit for the strides it has made over the years,’ says David Johnson, managing
director of the Live Design franchise. “We wish him well in his future endeavors and
look forward to continuing our relationship with PLASA as it moves forward.’
Griffiths will leave PLASA on October 31, 2015 after the PLASA Exhibition.
“He has built up an international profile of which we should be proud,” says PLASA
Governing Body Acting Chairman, John Simpson, “and I know that his passion, good
humor, and acumen will be missed.”
