Continuing from the success of last October’s show, Prolight + Sound Shanghai will return to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 14 to 17 October 2015.

Leading brands including Adam Hall, Audiocenter, Behringer, dB Technologies, Electro-Voice, Fidek, Funktion-One, Global Truss, KAIFAT, Maquinas, Martin Audio, Midas, Party House, Proel, SAE Audio, Soundking, Srexact, Superlux, Takstar, Tonwel, TW AUDiO and Zsound, have reserved booth space for the 2015 show and will demonstrate a comprehensive range of pro audio and lighting products across three halls (38 000 sqm). In 2014, the fair provided a preeminent business platform for 500 exhibitors and 24 017 visitors from 88 countries and regions.

The immense contribution from local partners and renowned trade associations worldwide has turned Prolight + Sound Shanghai into an outstanding platform for international pro audio and lighting industry peers to tap into the profiting market in Asia. China, in particular, is the creme de la creme where cultural products for public facilities is in high demand. According to the Chinese government’s fiscal budget in 2014, the expense on sourcing the above items was RMB 70.5 billion (USD 11.5 billion), this reveals a huge market potential for pro audio and lighting industries.

In light of this huge market, the show will launch a series of activities accommodating suppliers’ needs. Fiona Chiew, deputy general manager for Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co further explained the motivation behind the series. “We conducted an industry survey last December and the result reviews that the participants expect and recognise the show as an effective means to reach international markets such as Brazil, Germany, India, Korea, Russia and USA, as well as the distributors in China. To strengthen the connection between suppliers and buyers from these markets, we will work closely with key international and local associations to bring together top buyers from these regions.’

Strong support from trade associations worldwide affirms the show’s leading position in the industry.

Right after the survey result was released, the show organisers started collaborating with different partnered associations and organisations for show promotions and forming buyer delegations. Partnered associations include:

One of the co-organisers of Prolight + Sound Shanghai, China Audio Industry Association, is actively recruiting key audio buyers from China to the show. The association’s Secretary LiXin Chen explained, “Over the past 12 years, the show has attracted up-scale overseas brands and suppliers from local key manufacturing hubs such as Enping, Ningbo, Panyu and Shenzhen. Its international profile and quality exceeded similar kinds of trade fairs in China, and this is important for buyers who aim for better and wider sourcing options.’

Numerous educational fringe events will also be held at the show to bring in more professional buyers and experts and add value for their visit. One of the industry supporters, Randell Greenlee, director for International Relations and Communication, the Professional Lighting and Sound Association of Germany (VPLT) believes the show is an important trade platform. Each year VPLT brings industry experts to speak at the show’s fringe events. “The Prolight + Sound brand is a world-wide brand. I hope many German companies will join the Shanghai show because we believe this is a very important market to be a part of,’ Greenlee said.
