Showlight is one of the few international events organised specifically for lighting
professionals by lighting professionals across the theatre, television, film,
performance, architectural and event worlds. A mix of conference, tradeshow and
sociability, Showlight is a unique opportunity to mix with others in the lighting
industry in an informal and informative atmosphere.
“PLASA was the right forum to have a stand for Showlight,’ says lighting designer
and Showlight technical support, Rudi Benz. “It is a show that puts a lot of effort
into networking and education which is right in line with Showlight’s own philosophy.
“We had a lot of interest from visitors as prospective exhibitors, speakers and
delegates. Being situated amongst the industry organisations and drama schools,
we also met many students who had not heard of Showlight before. They were very
interested to hear that Showlight offers 40 places to students sponsored by the
exhibitors, and uptake has increased since. We were also very happy to sign up
more exhibitors for next May, to the extent that we have almost reached maximum
capacity eight months before the event!’
The next Showlight quadrennial will take place in Florence Italy from 20th – 23rd
