UK based automation specialist and manufacturer Kinesys has appointed The
Rigging Shop (TRS) as the exclusive distributor for its products in Australia and New
Zealand.
Based in New South Wales, the sales dedicated TRS operation is part of Pollard
Productions, popular and well-respected rigging professionals working in all areas of
live shows and events, TV productions and concert touring … which has been
established for 35 years. Pollard is also a long term customer of Kinesys.
The announcement follows a recent visit to Australia by Dave Weatherhead MD
Kinesys, who comments, “TRS share our core values, standards of excellence and
attention to detail. They have the right attitude and bring a huge amount of
knowledge and enthusiasm to the equation and through the Pollard Productions
connection, the TRS team is also really experienced with our product ranges. We
are confident of a very positive future’.
TRS is headed by James Ring (owner of the enterprise and Pollard Productions) and
Mike Stephenson, Both originally come from a marine background, and bring a fund
of real-world experience at the sharp end of entertainment industry rigging.
They have been actively using and specifying Kinesys equipment and solutions since
2008, and are a big advocate of the robustness and stability of the products and the
quality with which the Kinesys brand is synonymous.
Since TRS opened in 2011, they have carried a selected stock of signature Kinesys
items like Elevation variable speed chain hoist controllers, DigiHoist controllers and
the LibraCELL load monitoring system which they were able to supply quickly ex
stock. This business grew steadily and alongside this, they started undertaking
servicing and support as major rental Australian companies like PRG and Chameleon
invested in Kinesys.
Having actively promoted the Kinesys product for so many years already James
says, “I continue to be impressed with how the products are designed and
engineered by people who REALLY understand the principles, practices and
responsibilities of rigging’.
We are proud to take on the distributorship and really value being part of the
Kinesys international team’.
Naturally they will be continuing to promote the brand’s good name, and will now be
able to offer customers even better pricing and value across the entire range of
products.
The automation market in Australia is growing steadily, and both James and Mike
see a potential for a premium, innovative and unique brand like Kinesys.
They have identified some target sectors in which to promote the flexibility and
creative options that are opened up by automation and aspects like load monitoring
is increasingly becoming a health & safety requirement for major shows and
installations both permanent and temporary.
“We are looking forward to the continuation and expansion of a great working
relationship’ conclude James and Mike.
