Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI) today announced that it has been honored with two 2013 AV Technology Awards. The company’s RTiPanel application for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets was named “Best Mobile App to Manage AV.” RTI also received the “Best Use of a Mobile App to Manage AV Systems” award for the use of the RTiPanel app in the control system at Blondies Sports Bar & Grill in Las Vegas.
The AV Technology Awards are the industry’s only program that invests in tech managers while recognizing the manufacturers who anticipate and respond to their needs. Products and applications are judged based on ease of use, reliability, product versatility, overall network impact, and ROI.
Now compatible with Android devices of any screen size — in addition to Apple’s iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad — the RTiPanel app, which is being used at Blondies, provides users with complete control over all connected electronic systems from virtually anywhere in the world, raising the bar for control apps with unique features such as full two-way feedback including cover art, animated weather graphics, image lists, and much more. The app also sports a completely customizable graphical user interface, providing users with a consistent experience across all controllers in their system.
At Blondies Sports Bar & Grill, the RTiPanel is being used to provide staff with simple and intuitive control of more than 60 screens and a number of A/V sources — including 12 DIRECTV HD receivers, two HD cable boxes, an Apple TV, and an RTiDock — from the convenience of an iPad. In addition, staff can view output from the DIRECTV HD receivers on the iPad, allowing them to see what is playing at any given time and make adjustments on the fly from anywhere in the bar.
“Businesses of all kinds are increasingly looking to integrate smartphones and tablets into their control and automation systems,” said Pete Baker, vice president of sales and marketing for RTI. “The installation at Blondies is a perfect example of how the RTiPanel meets this demand. They needed a control solution that provides a single cohesive platform with the power and sophistication for staff to access each source and display independently in the massive system, allowing them to switch between games effortlessly. We are honored to have this advanced functionality recognized with two prestigious AV Technology awards.”
