Matrox® Video recently announced that HARDATA® Corp, a premier developer of
TV and radio workflow solutions, has incorporated the Matrox DSX LE4 LP multi-SDI
video cards and Matrox X.mio3 IP multi-channel video I/O over 10GbE cards into its
SMART+ 9440 and 9440 IP integrated channel-in-a-box (CIAB) solutions.

A new line of HARDATA’s integrated solutions, the SMART+ Series is focused toward
interoperability and new formats, building a path from SDI to IP and from HD to 4K.
SMART+ servers are intended for TV stations, TV producers and educational
institutions that want to protect current investments yet remain flexible enough to
switch to IP or 4K when ready. Inheriting the easy-to-use user interface common in
all HARDATA products, SMART+ servers provide quality and reliability at a cost-to-
value ratio second to none.

“When we were looking to build a high-end channel-in-a-box, we looked for not only
the best technology but also a company who shared a forward looking roadmap to
IP and 4K,’ said Gustavo Pesci, Founder/CEO, HARDATA. “In that sense, we believe
that Matrox is the perfect choice.’

The SMART+ 9440 is a CIAB made possible by Matrox DSX LE4 LP, a low-profile,
half-length PCI Express® card that offers up to eight reconfigurable SDI I/Os—from
SD to 4K. With four configurable SDI Inputs/Outputs, SMART 9440+ can be used as
a four-channel ingest server, a two-channel production server, a four-channel
playout server with graphics, or a 4K playout server with graphics.

The SMART+ 9440 IP-enabled CIAB is powered by the Matrox X.mio3 IP card,
offering IP enabled integrated playout with ingest, playout and graphics. X.mio3 IP
brings multi-channel, IP-encapsulated HD, and 4K video I/O to the SMART+ 9440 IP
system, as well as support for IP transport protocols including ST 2022-6/7, ST
2110, ASPEN and Sony IP.

“The combination of our powerful SDK and flexible hardware allows HARDATA’s
SMART+ line of products to offer greater functionality, interoperability, and
flexibility—amazing attributes for a CIAB solution,’ said Francesco Scartozzi, Matrox
Director of Sales and Marketing (Americas). “The high quality and robust DSXLE4,
coupled with dedicated support from Matrox’s OEM applications engineers has
enabled HARDATA to quickly come to market, offering 4K, SDI and IP platforms—
that’s just remarkable.’

At NAB 2017 (Las Vegas, NV – April 24-27), HARDATA products will be shown at
booth N3224. Matrox products will be shown at booth SL6316.
