Harman’s JBL professional announced the inauguration of its VTX Pro seminar series, providing a unique opportunity for audio engineers to experience its market-leading VTX line arrays in real world conditions.

The first seminars will be hosted by; Ken “Pooch’ Van Druten, FOH engineer for Linkin Park; Jim Digby, tour director for Linkin Park and president of the Event Safety Alliance; Vic Wagner, System engineer for Sound Image and Vinnie Perreux, market manager, Tour Sound, Harman Professional.

The VTX Pro seminars will offer a unique, behind the scenes look at Linkin Park’s concert productions and the VTX technology and sound design that go into those productions. Participants will be able to experience the same VTX performance that can be heard during a Linkin Park show while also having access to a Linkin Park concert that evening. The seminars will make more than 20 stops through March, stretching across the US and Canada, coinciding with Linkin Park concerts in the same venues.

Content for the VTX Pro seminar series includes an introduction of VTX system technology, followed by a discussion of venue-specific sound design incorporating VTX line arrays, Crown I-Tech HD amplification and processing, JBL HiQnet performance manager software and the JBL Line Array Calculator, along with cardioid subwoofer arraying techniques.

After a virtual playback session and discussion of the event safety alliance with Jim Digby, the seminars conclude with a Q&A session, followed by admission to the Linkin Park show.
