Bruce Genricks has been elected as the new chairman of the Southern African Communications Industries Association (SACIA). Genricks takes over from Gary Atkins who has served as chairman since the Association was established in 2010.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my two years as chairman of the Association and am pleased at the progress we’ve made in promoting the adoption of professional standards in the broadcast and professional AV industry,” says Atkins. “I will continue to support Bruce and the new Board as they continue in their quest for truth, honesty and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of the audio visual profession.”
Genricks is the managing member of Electrosonic SA and has served on the SACIA Board since it was established. “I feel really honoured to have been elected by the board, and will strive to continue the excellent work that Gary has done over the past two years. Having done the ground work in establishing SACIA, we now need to carry the momentum into the next phase. I am confident that together with Kevan and the rest of the board, and with the assistance of the members of SACIA, we can create even more value for our members,” adds Genricks.
Over the next month SACIA will be hosting a number of member networking breakfasts to engage with members and talk about our vision for the future development of the Association. These breakfasts are open to all members and industry professionals interested in learning more about our future plans.
The first breakfast is being held in Durban this Friday (15 June) at the Royal Natal Yacht Club and is followed up by events in Johannesurg (3 July at the Cabanga Conference Centre) and Cape Town (20 July at the Cape Town Lodge Hotel)
