This is not the case.

Christie Digital, a global leader in both audio visual and cinema, continues to bolster its commitment to Africa following the appointment of Richard Nye last year as Christie’s first regional director within the continent.Previously a director based at Christie’s EMEA headquarters, Nye brings nearly 2 decades of experience across Christie’s portfolio; including cinema and Pro AV applications.
Christie moved to new purpose-built offices at the beginning of the year, equipped with dedicated training facilities, to deliver the company’s global commitment to knowledge sharing in South Africa. Already advanced courses have been given, free of charge, including a 5-day cinema workshop to Ster Kinekor and tuition for technicians wanting to work with Christie’s Pandoras Box (following last year’s acquisition of Coolux, which completed a portfolio that grounds Christie’s reputation as a world leader in live event solutions).
Christie also begins its new financial year embracing a new distributor strategy for the region. “It has been my goal to build on our success in live events, houses of worship and control rooms. We will now bring into focus Christie’s expertise in Corporate AV and enterprise solutions for South Africa; an expertise we are well-known for in America, Europe and Asia’; explains Nye.
